Återigen: hur det underlättar att det finns så många som tydliggör åtminstone centrala politiska och ekonomiska aspekter av en den nödvändiga de överordnade värdenas socialistiska konservatism, så att man s.a.s. inte behöver göra det själv och i stället kan försöka ägna sig mer åt just de överordnade dimensioner som anges i undertiteln till denna blogg och i beteckningarna av flera av ämneskategorierna, och som saknas hos dessa viktiga analytiker.

Men som jag också framhållit: hur beklagligt det är att det just nu i Sverige inte finns något parti som representerar den nödvändiga nya politiken, inget parti som motsvarar vad jag en gång hoppades att SD och AfS inom en inte alltför avlägsen framtid skulle kunna utvecklas i riktning mot. Eller ens en annan typ av politisk organisation. Att bara kunna signalera, nämna, hänvisa till att man är medlem i ett sådant parti eller en sådan organisation skulle ju mycket effektivt kommunicera det politiska budskapet utan att man behövde gå igenom allt själv och skriva om det hela tiden, och därmed nedprioritera det som, i tingens yttersta ordning, verkligen är entydigt överordnat och därmed väsentligare – sådant som även den rätta politiken och samhällsordningen i slutändan är beroende av.

Nu kan man bara hänvisa till – dela, posta – de essentiella, partiella analyserna av andra, vid behov kommentera dem, och, när det känns särskilt påkallat eller t.o.m. oundvikligt, fortsätta skriva egna politiska inlägg. Och kanske därmed i bästa fall på avstånd, genom att bara tillhandahålla det här på internätet, bidra med något litet mått av uppmuntran och förslag, ett och annat djupare åskådningsmässigt perspektiv, till någon av dem som vill ägna sig åt ny politisk organisering och aktivism. Någon vars intressen, bakgrund, utbildning och allmänna mänskliga betingadhet gör det naturligt, ja just nu gör det till det optimala att ägna sig åt denna organisering och aktivism.

Naturnödvändigtvis kommer det ju alltid finnas oräkneliga människor som primärt eller rentav uteslutande vill ägna sig åt politik, för att inte tala om ekonomi. Just nu måste det bara bli tydligare vilken politik, vilken ny politik, som behövs.

Ingen egentligt intelligent person kan på allvar tro och framför allt inte vilja att det primitiva, vilda system Norton beskriver, och den undermänskliga kultur och troglomentalitet det alstrar, har en framtid. Det är ett enda stort, tungt, mörkt evolutionärt och andligt hinder för mänskligheten, ett hot mot alla högre värden och mot den mänskliga framtiden som sådan.

Förutom den av Michael Behrent redigerade Towards a Conservative Left: Selected Writings of Jean-Claude Michéa, kommer även en bok med samtal mellan Michéa och Behrent, Conversations américaines, publiceras senare i år av Éditions Albin Michel.

En tyvärr betalväggad artikel av Behrent har också publicerats i Compact (amerikanska, inte tyska). Thomas Fazi anser den vara en “Great article about…one of the fathers of conservative communism”, men tillägger överdrivet att denna senare “is really just communism, which is (used to be) inherently culturally conservative”. Kulturkonservativa inslag, och åtminstone s.a.s. implicerade potentialer, finns ju utan tvekan hos både Marx och Lenin, och de blir förstås centrala och avgörande idag. Men Fazi går för långt.

Compacts grundar-redaktör Sohrab Ahmari, författare till bl.a. The Unbroken Thread: Discovering the Wisdom of Tradition in an Age of Chaos (2021), menar att Michéa “has elucidated perhaps the only political and intellectual framework that might yet save the West. If this seems obvious in retrospect, it is only thanks to his yeoman labor.” Till detta bör väl läggas att det gäller den mer allmänna inriktning som titlarna på Behrents publikationer anger; inom dess ram finns ju utrymme för stor variation, bättre och sämre specifika former.

After the end of the Cold War, neoliberalism, with its belief in the virtues of markets and competition, seemed to have triumphed. Communism had been defeated – and Friedrich Hayek, the spiritual father of neoliberal economics, had just about lived to see it. But in the decades that followed, Hayek’s disciples knew that they had a problem. The rise of social movements, from civil rights and feminism to environmentalism, were now proving roadblocks in the road to freedom, nurturing a culture of government dependency, public spending, political correctness and special pleading. Neoliberals needed an antidote.

In this illuminating new book, historian Quinn Slobodian reveals how, from the 1990s onwards, neoliberal thinkers turned to nature, in an attempt to roll back social changes and to return to a hierarchy of gender, race and cultural difference. He explores how these thinkers drew on the language of science, from cognitive psychology to genetics, in order to embed the idea of ‘competition’ ever deeper into social life, and to advocate cultural homogeneity as essential for markets to truly work. I det andra avsnittet av sin nya Modern Age-podd försökte Daniel McCarthy, i linje med den typ av konservativ tradition som han tillhör, bidra till att stoppa Trumps angrepp på Iran.

Att det traditionellt-konservativa och paleokonservativa motståndet mot neocons av såväl republikanskt som demokratiskt snitt än en gång misslyckades måste vara särskilt smärtsamt för McCarthy, som mer än någon annan av de ledande intellektuella i detta läger – alldeles för mycket, anmärkningsvärt mycket givet hans bildningsbakgrund – försökt tro på Trump som just deras representant, och i det längsta försvarat hans politik.

För nu står det väl slutgiltigt klart: det konservativa motståndet har visat sig fullständigt otillräckligt. Dess filosofi äger en bestående sanning som måste räddas, och det är en tröst att den “liberala demokratins” senaste tragiska vansinne rimligen kommer stärka den som allmän opinionsrörelse, på ett sätt som förhoppningsvis kommer få avgörande konsekvenser i en framtid. Som organiserad politisk rörelse i USA och i väst framstår den för närvarande som överkörd, maktlös, slut. Men imperieetablissemanget har komprometterat och förstört väst, och det motstånd och hat det skapar i den övriga världen torde garantera dess fortsatta nedgång.

Att så många satt ett oproportionerligt hopp till Trump är ett katastrofalt fattigdomsbevis. Och fattigdomen är delvis ideologisk. Antiimperie-konservatismens viktiga insikter och engagemang måste räddas in i ett annat, större och mer heltäckande ideologiskt och politiskt sammanhang. Ett sammanhang som med en nödvändig, större fullständighet kan förstå Atlantimperialismens väsen, med erforderligt djup uppfatta att och hur den hårda aggressionen i Mellanöstern och på flera håll i Latinamerika, Asien och Afrika är till sitt syfte densamma som den mjukare aggressionen, inklusive den i Östeuropa, genom NGO-operationer och färgrevolutioner.

I Iran har det aldrig enbart handlat om dess kärnenergiprogram. Det handlar om regimförändring, om den systembetingade nödvändigheten av politisk och ekonomisk makt och kontroll, på samma sätt som i Ryssland och i Kina, depuis toujours. Men till detta kommer förstås de nu med varandra oupplösligt förenade, extrem-särpräglade israeliska religiös-nationella strävandena, som de flesta kristianer i USA delar.

De enstaka kända dissidenterna inom Republikanerna har fortsatt sitt heroiska motstånd, och inför det nya akuta hotet efter Israels angrepp publicerades vad som kanske är den starkaste artikel jag någonsin läst i The American Conservative, den s.a.s. verkliga eller i alla fall meningsfulla konservatismens flaggskeppspublikation som startades av Buchanan 2002 för att stoppa neokonservatismen och Irakkriget. Åtminstone innehållsligt är den helt jämförbar med Buchanans klassiska. Författaren var Hunter DeRensis, och rubriken Zionism Is Not an American Principle.

Att denna artikel nu kunnat publiceras gör det obegripligt att den ypperlige Daniel Larison för flera år sedan tvingades sluta på TAC, såvitt jag förstod därför att han t.o.m. där kom att uppfattas som alltför kontroversiell. Han har i alla fall fortsatt sin konsekventa, skarpa argumentation i Responsible Statecraft och på sin egen Substack: “A joint U.S.-Israeli war on Iran”, skriver han nu, “amounts to having two powerful, nuclear-armed states gang up on a weaker country without nuclear weapons and killing its people simply because they can and want to. It is despicable and indefensible. It is an indictment of our foreign policy establishment and our political leadership that it is even being entertained as an option.”

I Sverige tror skojarna i SD och på Riks och Bulletin självklart entusiastiskt på det nya kriget. Så här låter det från den bisarre amerikaniseringsroboten Ronie Berggren: “Trump har bombat Irans kärnanläggningar. De är tillintetgjorda. Iran blev helt bortfintade av Trump och Netanyahu. Frihet för Iran. God Bless America. Tack President Trump!”

Med den linje jag försökte förespråka i SD och därefter under några månader 2018 i AfS skulle det senare partiet idag kunnat vara det långt större, seriösa, i ny mening socialkonservativa och nationella partiet som trovärdigt övertagit och på nyskapande sätt förvaltade bl.a. den fredslinje som det en gång internationellt – även utan för väst – respekterade Sverige stod för i världspolitiken, men som den nyliberalt provinsialamerikaniserade högern förstört. Men redan några månader efter sin lansering förstörde de dessa lysande möjligheter för sig själva och Sverige genom att liera sig med radikalnationalisterna och fascisterna.

Än mer provokativt än under sin första valrörelse 2018 har detta parti sedan dess omfamnat och satsat på just det jag då påtalade. “Ut med packet!” gjordes till en officiell paroll, medan jag bara kritiserat att de inte tog avstånd från att NMR skanderade det på torgmötena; “avståndstagande från avståndstagande” blev en bestående, central princip i stället för den tillfälliga olyckshändelse jag hoppats att det var; samarbetet med den idag största, direkt till den gamla svenska sektfascismen anknytande och även ukrofascistiska organisationen Det Fria Sverige fördjupades genom att dess medlemmar enrollerades som valarbetare. På nationaldagen i år talade partiledaren hos dem, och på torgmöten spelas med hans gillande det nazistiska bandet Storms – med album som ‘Hell seger’ (1994) – låt ‘Hellre död än röd’. Detta visade sig vara vad de ville; SD-ledningen hade rätt om dem.

Det är ett tragiskt resultat av den politisk-intellektuella torftighet den dekadenskapitalistiska nyliberala eran skapat att det starkaste och nästan enda konsekventa och partipolitiskt organiserade NATO- och krigsmotståndet i Sverige, utöver det wokevåbblande Kommunistiska Partiets och väl något nytt konspirationsorienterat småparti, kommer från AfS sådant det blev.

Till skillnad från antikrigskonservatismen har populistnationalismen, särskilt i Sverige, visat sig värdelös. Den har uppdelats i två falanger: å ena sidan den ansträngda “konservativa” wannabe-anpassningens, och å den andra den ofta av mobb-andan präglade radikalnationalismens. Men avståndet mellan dem minskar i och med att krigsborgerligheten blivit opinionsmässigt beroende av det stöd populistnationalismen ger, och dessutom åter behöver tillgripa inrikes övervaknings- och repressionsåtgärder av fascistisk typ. Den f.d. althögern i form av Daniel Fribergs Högerfirma har, genom sitt affärsområde Arktos, drivit Trumpkulten långt över gränsen till det komiska, och förhindrat utvecklingen av verkliga konservativa alternativ. Situationen är likartad i övriga Europa.

Och inom den vanliga svenska högern, där Trumphatet hittills, liksom hos etablissemangsvänstern, inte minst – om än givetvis långtifrån enbart – berott på vad som uppfattats som hans krigsmotstånd när det gäller Ryssland, har under de senaste åren inte mycket hörts om den allmänna atlanticistiska krigsaggressionen och tillhörande propagandan från dem som tidigare åtminstone i någon mån varit mottagliga för McCarthys typ av konservatism, främst genom dess även i USA sedan länge främste tänkare, Claes Ryn.

Kirk-grundade Modern Ages senaste redaktör och sedan länge även till Buchanan-grundade The American Conservative knutne Daniel McCarthy, som studerat värdecentrerad historicism hos Claes Ryn, har med Intercollegiate Studies Institute – som utger Modern Age – startat en ny podd på YouTube.

I det första avsnittet ställer han frågan ‘Can Elite Conservatism Speak to the Working Class?’, och fokuserar på distinktioner mellan olika typer av eliter:

McCarthy kommer, hoppas man, på ett trevligt sätt kunna i denna form förmedla en del av det viktiga i vad den äldre konservativa intellektuella rörelsen i Amerika hade att säga om överordnade värden.

Vad han, liksom även Mckay (länkar nedan), missar är förstås de ur-abrahamitiska, rent religiöst-etniskt-identitära motiven för Israels agerande. De motiv som Netanyahu åberopar åtminstone av politiska skäl och som på fullast tänkbara allvar stått i centrum för Ben-Gvir, Smotrich och de många explicit-genocidala rabbiner, Knessetledamöter, opinionsbildare, bosättaraktivister, soldater och vanliga israeler som passerat revy i sociala media och inte minst på YouTube under de senaste årens massakrer i Gaza. Liksom för de högerkristna, särskilt i USA (inklusive Sverige).

Flera viktiga judiska och israeliska forskare kunde här åberopas. Alltifrån Herut-Likuds framgång under andra hälften av 70-talet har den religiöst-sionistiska och till stor del mizrachiska dominansen av Israel vuxit okontrollerat och givit denna politiska rörelse sitt stöd, trots dess väl nästan rent sekulärt-nationalistiska ursprung (Irgun representerade dock i jämförelse med Haganah ett begynnande närmande till de religiösa sionisterna, och Sternligan gick vidare i denna riktning). Sedan länge bygger högersionismen till avgörande del på detta stöd.

Betydelsen av denna dimension gör att det egentligen är fel att säga att Nortons bild är nästan fullständig. Både om Norton och Mckay gäller att deras socialistiska och – särskilt markerat i Mckays fall – marxistisk-leninistiskt historiematerialistiska analyser helt enkelt inte kan tillräckligt omfatta och förstå den till epifenomenell överbyggnad och ideologi icke reducerbara faktor som denna dimension och dess identitära och allmänt åskådningsmässiga innebörd utgör. De är för ytliga för det.

Följden blir en åtminstone alldeles för enkel och ensidig uppfattning av Israel som endast ett osänkbart bosättarkolonialistiskt hangarfartyg för atlantimperialismen i allmänhet, av Israel som kontrollerat av USA och inte tvärtom (med Israel förstås givetvis även det organiserade sionistiska intresset i USA). Bilden är i själva verket ganska långt från att vara fullständig, och delvis är den också överdriven och missvisande. Max Blumenthal och Alon Mizrahi är bara två av oräkneliga analytiker med ett bättre grepp på den här punkten. Men bortsett från denna brist är Nortons och Mckays analyser historiskt, politiskt och ekonomiskt så heltäckande, centrala och sanna att jag ändå behåller min rubrik.

Det finns ännu ingenting särskilt jag har att säga om atlantimperiets senaste tragiska aggression som jag tycker mig kunna säga tillräckligt bra för att det ska vara meningsfullt att publicera här. I synnerhet som en hel värld hela tiden på så utmärkt sätt säger allt som behöver sägas.

Ur den oändliga mångfalden av lysande kommentarer – inte minst från dem jag oftast brukar återXa på X – väljer jag därför här bara två exempel.

Två veckor före Israels angrepp skrev Alon Mizrahi:

“Netanyahu has no choice but to bomb Iran. There’s nothing else he can or feels compelled to do.

He can keep the genocide going, but the pressure is mounting.

He can keep trying to push for wide ethnic cleansing, but no country agrees to be complicit in this, and the pressure will be enormous. It will be Israel’s diplomatic destruction.

He can stop the genocide, but then he will be seen as a loser, and the focus will shift to the West Bank, where Israel loses badly and is already the villain in international diplomacy (no European country will recognize Israel’s annexation or settlements; they never have and never will).

He cannot negotiate with Palestinians directly.

He cannot recognize a Palestinian state.

He cannot lead Israel in ‘peace time’ and deal with the aftermath of what he’s caused.

He cannot take over the US more than he already has.

He cannot strengthen his hold over Europe. There is actual resistance there.

Most importantly, he cannot keep Israel in the public image as a victim that has to have constant help without fighting a real enemy in a real war. He cannot enjoy the rush of feeling important and serious unless a catastrophe is happening, and everybody waits to hear what he has to say.

If he doesn’t bomb Iran, the adrenaline rush (caused by controlled danger mitigated by the West’s servility and endless flattery) will be over with no substitute in sight.

If he doesn’t bomb Iran, all he has to do for the rest of his political life is handle influence and coercion around the world to shut up the discussion about Israel’s crimes. Not very exciting.

But if he does attack Iran, all of his and Israel’s previous sins will be forgotten immediately. The US will rush to help, and the UK and other European countries will too.

No talk of genocide, no mention of settlements anymore; only Israel as the poor victim, and the Judeocentric urgency he and his camp live for. That’s ideal.

His whole life led to this moment, where he will have to choose between the Israel of his imagination and fantasies (that the Christian Zionists share), and the real Israel that will be wracked under Iran’s counteroffensive.

Everything I know about him tells me he will choose fantasy.

If he chooses not to attack, then he has lost everything, and his life means nothing. What has he achieved in 50 years of working tirelessly to promote his deranged vision? What does he have to show for it, except the destruction of both Israel and the US?

This is the moment he prepared his whole life for, and the odds were never as much in his favor as they are now.

I have little doubt that he will choose himself and fantasy, and, counting on American and British help, he will order a strike against Iran.

You can see the crackdown on ‘antisemitism’ in the US as preparation to preemptively block any chance of a major anti-war protest wave. If such a wave begins, it will be framed as the ultimate proof of deep and dangerous antisemitism in the US, and will be treated accordingly. Look at Rubio’s face and know America’s future.”

“I am certain that Trump does not want the US directly engaged in the war, that he fantasizes about winning a Nobel Prize by ending it, and that in any case, he is too mentally lazy to manage such a conflict.
